The Chess pieces are hand carved and the woods used are high grade precious woods Box wood and Golden Rose wood and Box wood.
For the pieces to be stable to sit well on the chessboard, their bottoms are made heavier by fusing high density metal LEAD into the bottoms which are, from beneath, covered with colorful felt discs that help the chessboard stay scratch-free.
