Staunton Castle is glad to announce “The Reproduced Circa'' From the year 1850-1870. The English Playing Chess Pieces in ebony wood. A legendary set with a new outlook.

You can purchase this unique item from the Manufacturing Studio of Staunton Castle.

A totally handmade Chess Set crafted with passion and devotion by Staunton Castle.

Here is a description of our exclusive set.

The King stands at 3.5” tall with a basic Diameter of 1.3125”. The Contending pieces are made of “Boxwood” which is customarily used for the white side.

The texture of the Antiqued and Ebonised Boxwood wood is gracious and very fine to touch. The deep sheen and total blackness of the ebonised wood is excellent.

They are exceptionally handcrafted by Staunton Castle.  This set is crafted from the finest grade Box wood and polished by hand to give it everlasting luster and shine. The Four-step process of innovative polishing gives it a uniform polish and also protects the Chess Pieces from Cracking and splitting.

The most exciting thing about this unique chess is the Bishop’s archer cut and the carving of the Knight. The Chess pieces are weighted equally so that it can easily slide onto the chessboard and does not tip over.

Note: This set comes with free extra queens. The brilliant idea to emulate this alluring chess set and its tiny details go to Mr. Mandeep Saggu Knighthead Making Manufacturing Studio Staunton Castle.

 History Notes

A few years back, there was no consistent size and design for a Chess set. This unique chess piece design took shape after the straight-up chess pieces were used before Howard Staunton and made this style its benchmark.

This creation was the favorite among the Chess players in the UK. The different qualities of sets were extrusive in different countries. And most importantly, Chess players often prefer to use their native pieces in-game.
